Going Nikon
After using countless hours reading about it, and fondling the two competitors in a shop, I've decided. It's definitely going to be Nikon's D80. What a sweet piece. The 400D feels like a toy next to it.
Things that convinced me:
- Much better ergonomics (grip and feel), feels like quality
- Button placements (Two wheels, one for aperature and one for speed, good for manual)
- LCD on top for quickly checking settings
- Better viewfinder with better magnification (0.96x), brighter
- 11 point AF over 9
- ISO Priority program
- Excellent intuitive menu
- Bigger battery (Reported 2700 pics per charge), more battery information
- Ability to go to 3200 ISO (for emergencys)
- Extremely short mirror lag (80 ms)
- Kit lens 18-135 mm (27-200 in 35 mm terms) over 18-70 mm
- LCD protective cover (hehe)
- hmmm faster transfer speeds, unlimited bursts in JPEG
- Better auto WB
