Home again

Back home in the luxury of a home with straight angled walls, and a firm floor. Did post a blog yesterday from my phone, but I guess it got lost somewhere in cyberspace. It's been a great great festival this year, despite of, and in some sense because of the weather. The rain really brought forth that communal we're-in-this-together-feeling, that the best festivals do, and for about a week Roskilde was the center of the universe. Of course it wouldn't be much of a music festival without music, and to that regard the festival fulfilled and rose above all expectations - despite the (incomprehensible) banter the program got from the media.

I won't go into to much detail regarding the concerts, but here's some from the top

Electrelane
Beautifull noise and pop from the all-girl band from England. I'm in love with the guitarist.

The National
One of the best rock bands today? Added a lot of noise and energy to their songs live, that made for an amazing live experience.

The Brian Jonestown Massacre
Like seeing one of the concerts from the documentary on the band DiG. Anton was crazy and angry as ever, and right when you thought the whole thing would fall apart, they got it together and made beautifull music.

Boris
Droning and noisy, it was everything I had hoped it would be.

The Flaming Lips
One of the most memorable stage shows ever, great contact with the audience, and a truly life life-affirming set.

Wilco
Thankfully they played a lot of songs from the brilliant album Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, and not so many from their latest pretty boring album Sky Blue Sky. Pleasing sounds.

Took some pictures and videos on my phone. Didn't risk bringing my Nikon - and glad I didn't - but unfortunately the quality isn't the best.

An excellent vintage '07, already looking forward to '08.
