Despair and hope

Day 10 - the westfjords. We never got to the top of Snefällsjökull. We waited for the rain and clouds to clear one whole day at the foot of the glacier, the next day it still rained, and storming as well for good measure. We decided to get out of there and hiked and hitched to the closest town Olafsvik, took the bus from there to Stykisholmur. There we spent a night, and took the ferry the next day to the Westfjords. Here we we're supposed to take the bus to Thingeyri, where we were to visit some friends who has a house there. But we got the wrong info, and it turned out the bus only leaves three times a week, Tuesday not being one of them. So last night we slept in the tents. Today we will explore the area, and catch the bus this evening. The plan is to stay there untill Friday, and then rent a car and drive to Reykjavik, but plans change as we know. Anyway, the sun is out and it looks to be a beautifull day.
