Concert - Speaker Bite Me at Stengade 30

Now I was gonna make a big concert special listing the highlights of the previous months concerts, but I'm not gonna do that. Instead I will start a new concert serial (I like those), starting with the latest concert I saw - Speaker Bite Me.

I'm an old-time Speaker fan. I remember seeing the video for Punk the Pam on TV for what must have been 10 years ago, more or less. I've seen them numerous times live, and they always pull of an excellent show. Lately though they haven't been doing many concerts, the female lead singer Signe Høirup Wille-Jørgensen (I think), and the male singer Martin Ryum, have both been busy with their own projects, Jomi Massage and Martin Ryum respectively (duh), which are also very good. So when they where announced at Stengade 30, Jacob and me of course had to see them, and we where in for a treat.

They really know how to make beautiful noise along with soothing ballads. There was also quite a lot of new material, so maybe we'll soon see a new Speaker album (cross fingers)? The band was great, and so where the audience. They came back for two encores, and people where still hungry for more when they finally left, though the show was in no way short. As an encore they played Punk the Pam, which I don't think I've seen them play live before, that was fantastic (I kinda take credit for that since I started yelling Punk the Pam).

So a great night all in all. The warm-up band - Joy L - was also excellent actually, two guitars and a very rudimentary beat, they sounded a lot like Suicide.
